Parts of HUE

Our day out sightseeing the amazing city of HUE

-17 °C

Well we spent the 20th sightseeing the city of HUE.

HUE used to be the capital city of Vietnam, until 1945 when president Ho Chi Minh took power. He was the first president of the country and before him it was ruled by emperors. On our day out we saw tombs of some of the emporers. The city has more history than HANOI and it is less crowded, however it just does not have the same buzz and excitmement than HANOI.

We saw many sites in HUE, however the one that had the biggest impact on me was the PAGODA. A pagoda is where buddist monks spend their time, unlike Thailand where the monks only live at a pagoda for 1 year, here in VIETNAM they live there for their whole lives!

The Pagoda.

It was very inspiring because to see with my own eyes the dedication these monks have is unbelieveable. The children monks, who were only about 10 years old were so focused on studying that it made me realise how lazy western children are. This level of dedication is amazing! Whilst people are walking around them they have the dedication to keep on reading.

To all the people that are looking at our blogs, we hope that you are enjoying Asia through our eyes. Thanks for all your messages and comments!
